Documents Required for GST Registration

FOR COMPANIES:

1) Details of Company and Business
GST registration requires the PAN (Permanent Account Number) of the company and its date of commencement of business along with the Incorporation certificate of the Company. A valid mobile number and email address of the Company (if any) is also required at the time of registration.

2) Identity proof and details of Directors/promoters
The following details of Directors/ promoters of the company are required for GST registration:

  • The PAN number, DIN (Directors Identification number) and Aadhar number of the Directors/ authorized signatories.
  • Details such as Father’s name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, residential address and photograph of the Primary Authorized Signatory and all the directors of the Company are required at the time of GST registration.

3) Proof of Place of business

Principal Place of Business is the primary location within the State where a taxpayer’s business is conducted and where the business’s books of accounts and records are kept.

For proof of place of business – Any document in support of the ownership of the premises such as Latest Property Tax Receipt or Municipal Khata copy or copy of Electricity Bill. Copy of the valid Rent / Lease Agreement/Consent letter (as applicable) or NOC (No Objection Certificate) of owner if the principal place of business is not owned by the company

For every additional place of business in the state, proof of such additional place of business.

4) Valid bank account number from India

Details of the bank accounts (including IFSC Code and Account Number) maintained by the company for conducting business are required for GST registration. Details of upto 10 Bank Accounts can be mentioned. For proof the copy of first page of pass book or bank statement or copy of cancelled cheque containing the name of taxpayer (Company)

5) Other details

  • List of the type of Goods and Services the company is dealing in
  • Proof of appointment of Authorized Signatory (Letter of Authorization or copy of board resolution)
  • For Companies, it is important to have digital signature (class 2 digital signature) of the director or authorized signatory who is authorised to sign the GST application for and on behalf of the company
  • Other regulatory registration details such as Professional Tax, State Excise License details (If applicable)

FOR PROPRIETORSHIP:

1) Details of Business

GST registration requires the PAN (Permanent Account Number) of the Proprietor/Individual, the trade name of business and its date of commencement along with a valid mobile number and email address of the business (if any).

2) Identity proof and details of Directors/promoters

The following details of the Proprietor are required for GST registration: Details such as Father’s name, date of birth, mobile number, email address, Aadhar number, residential address and photograph of the Proprietor/Primary Authorized Signatory.

  • Proof of Place of business For proof of place of business the following documents are required:

  • Copy of the valid Rent / Lease Agreement/Consent letter (as applicable), OR

FOR PARTNERSHIP:

In case of normal partnerships:

1) Documents for Partnership

  • PAN card of the Partnership firm
  • Partnership Deed
  • Copy of Bank Statement
  • List of the type of Goods and Services the firm is dealing in.

2) Partner Related Documents

  • PAN and ID proof of the designated partners including all other details such as mobile number, email address, photograph etc.
  • Proof of appointment of Authorized Signatory (Letter of Authorization or copy of board resolution).

 

3) Documents Required for Registered Office

  • Copy of electricity bill/landline bill, water bill
  • Rent Agreement (for rented premises)
  • NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the owner

In case of limited liability partnerships (LLP):

1) LLP documents

  • PAN card of the LLP
  • Registration Certificate of the LLP
  • LLP Partnership agreement
  • Copy of Bank Statement of the LLP
  • Declaration to comply with the provisions
  • List of the type of Goods and Services the firm is dealing in.

2) Designated Partner Related Documents

  • PAN and ID proof of the designated partners including all other details such as mobile number, email address, photograph etc.
  • Proof of appointment of Authorized Signatory (Letter of Authorization or copy of board resolution).

3) Registered Office Documents

  • Copy of electricity bill/landline bill, water Bill
  • NOC of the owner
  • Rent agreement (for rented premises).
